DRIV HYDROGEN — warm flushing and first fill of hydrogen tanks at Kløfta
Newly produced hydrogen tanks cannot enter the market until they have been flushed of nitrogen and correctly filled with hydrogen. This is our job. At our hydrogen facility at Kløfta, Norway, we warm-flush MEGCs as the only emission-free operator in the Nordics. Everything we deliver is standardised, automated and documented, so that predictability, time-to-market, cost and quality are optimised. This makes it the gold standard DRIV standard.

Our reformer delivers 240 kg of biohydrogen every day — ready to use now, not someday.

Gas analysis
Over eight pressure cycles, the nitrogen content in the tank drops from 495 700 ppm to just 178 ppm. Purity climbs from 50.43 % to 99.982 % — comfortably below the 300 ppm requirement.
When can we take your container?
We handle it all — so you don't have to.
From nitrogen-filled tank to documented hydrogen — one standardised process at Kløfta.

Intake
Your tank arrives at Kløfta, factory-filled with nitrogen. We inspect it and get it ready for flushing.

New Type IV tanks arrive filled with pressurised nitrogen, and the polymer liner can be permanently damaged if that pressure is released while the tank is cold. So we condition the tank warm before flushing out the nitrogen with hydrogen in controlled cycles — emission-free, and using 90 % less hydrogen than the traditional method.
The process is standardised and predictable: 20 and 30 ft containers take 4 working days, 40 and 45 ft take 5. We confirm the schedule for every delivery as soon as your enquiry comes in.
A certificate of analysis for every fill, documenting impurities below 300 ppm — plus certificates, ADR transport documents, safety data sheets and agreements, all in one place on My Page.
Pricing depends on volume, container type and delivery scope. Send us an enquiry describing what you need, and we’ll come back with a concrete offer — usually within one working day.
We produce it ourselves — steam reforming certified biomethanol at Kløfta: 240 kg a day, at 83 % efficiency.
